First Planner's Roundtable

The First NCTCOG Planner's Roundtable occured on Thursday, December 2, 2004 at 9:30 a.m.

John Promise, Director of NCTCOG's Department of Environment and Development, and Fernando Costa, Planning Director for the City of Fort Worth, kicked off the meeting with introductions and an overview of NCTCOG's Development Excellence activities.

Next, Karen Walz, Principal of Strategic Community Solutions, introduced us to Vision North Texas, a new initiative by the Urban Land Institute, the University of Texas at Arlington, and NCTCOG to increase public awareness about regional land use issues.

In addition, NCTCOG staff discussed planning activities in the Department of Transportation, the Department of Research and Information Services, and the Department of Environment and Development. The meeting concluded with a networking lunch.
